From Breadwinner to Caregiver: Life as a Stay-at-Home Dad [TFC Wise and Shine 17 with Cliff]

Stay-at-home fathers are becoming more common in modern society. Being a stay-at-home father can be a rewarding but challenging experience. Many stay-at-home fathers report feeling fulfilled in their caregiving role and value the opportunity to spend more time with their children. However, some also report feeling isolated or stigmatized by societal expectations of traditional gender roles.

Following the recent discussion of gender roles and caregiving during Singapore’s budget 2023 to support families and encourage more births, stay-at-home & working moms were the main characters during this discussion. But what about stay-at-home fathers? What drove them to becoming a stay home dad and the struggles and sacrifices that come with it.
