Terms and Conditions for “TFC Budget Royale” episode published on 16 April 2025

Terms and Conditions

Contest Period: 16 - 23 April 2025 only

Participation is open to residents of Singapore who are 18 years of age or older, excluding employees of the Financial Coconut (“Organiser”), Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (“Sponsor”) and their affiliates.

To participate in the TFC Budge Royale, participants must:
- submit a valid comment (“Comment”) on a platform designated by the Organiser (“Designated Platform”) for the TFC Podcast episode airing on 16 April 2025 (“Episode”) no later than 23 April 2025 23:59 (or such other period as the Organiser may announce from time to time). The Designated Platform may include the TFC Podcast application, social media or website; and
- cast a vote for the “Budget King/Queen” via the Designated Platform no later than 23 April 2025 23:59 (or such other period as the Organiser may announce from time to time).
The Comment must be original and must contain actionable financial tips or feedback related to the content of the Episode. Comments must not contain offensive, unlawful, or promotional content. The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entries that violate these Terms and Conditions.
Only one Comment and one vote is allowed per person. Automated or bulk entries will be disqualified.

The “Best Commenter” will be selected by the Organizer based on the originality, relevance, and engagement value of their Comment. The “Best Commenter” shall be deemed the winner of the Episode (“Winner”). Only one (1) Winner will be selected.
The Winner will be notified by the Organiser via their email or social media account which posted the Comment no later than 7 May (or 14 days after the Contest Period, whichever is later (“Notification”).
The Winner must respond to the Notification within 48 hours of being contacted by the Organiser. Failure to respond shall result in a forfeiture of their prize.

The Winner of the Episode shall receive an “e-voucher” (“Prize”), the specifics of which are to be determined by the Organiser at its sole discretion.
Any Prize awarded by the Organiser to the Winner is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, credit or any other goods or services.
The redemption and use of any Prize is subject to such other terms and conditions as may be imposed by the vendor of any Prize. The Organiser and Sponsor makes no warranty or representation for the quality, merchantability, fitness for any purpose or for the use or consumption thereof, or any other implied terms or conditions with respect to any Prize provided by any vendor. Any dispute about the same must be resolved directly with the vendor of the relevant Prize and the Organiser and Sponsor shall have no liability with regards to such dispute.
In the event that the Organiser subsequently discovers that the Winner was not eligible to participate in the TFC Budget Royale, the Organiser may, at its own discretion, demand the forfeit of the Prize and is otherwise entitled to reclaim the Prize (or the monetary value equivalent thereof) from the Winner.

Participation in the TFC Budget Royale is at the participant's own risk. The Organiser and Sponsor are not liable for technical errors, lost entries, or Prizes unclaimed due to incomplete or incorrect contact information.
The Organiser and Sponsor shall be released and discharged by each participant from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, and/or damages which the participant may have, whether known or unknown at the present time, of any nature whatsoever, arising out of or relating to: (a) the TFC Budget Royale, (b) loss suffered by the Winner as a result of the use and/or enjoyment of the Prize, and/or (c) any tax liabilities or any other fee in relation to the TFC Budget Royale, Prize and/or use or enjoyment of the same.
A Participant shall fully indemnify and hold the Organiser and Sponsor harmless from and against any loss, damage, cost, liability or expense (including legal fees) whether direct or indirect, which the Organiser or Sponsor incurs in respect of, in connection with and / or arising from the participant’s participation in the TFC Budget Royale or any breach of these Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to any third party claim that any participant’s Comment has breached any legal or equitable right of any third party, howsoever arising).

By participating in the Contest, participants are deemed to have provided consent to the Organiser and Sponsor for the collection, use and disclosure of their full name and their Comment for the purposes of the TFC Budget Royale and TFC Podcast, including but not limited to the announcement and publicity of the Winner(s) and the promotion of the TFC Budget Royale and TFC Podcast, without any additional compensation. By participating in the TFC Budget Royale, all participants agree and shall be deemed to have agreed to participate in any publicity, advertisement or media coverage as requested or required by the Organiser, without compensation and in such manner as the Organiser deems fit.

The Organiser and Sponsor reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any aspect of the TFC Budget Royale (including but not limited to these terms and conditions, the entry mechanics or any Prize) for any reason at any time without prior notice or liability to any other party.

The Organiser’s decision shall be final and binding on all participants in any matter whatsoever in relation to the TFC Budget Royale and no correspondence shall be entertained on the same.
By participating in the TFC Budget Royale, participants warrant that they own all intellectual property rights in any Comment submitted, and the submission of any Comment does not infringe upon any legal or equitable right of any third party.
The Organiser may, in its sole discretion, exclude any person from participating in the TFC Budget Royale without providing any reason or prior notice to such person.
The Organiser and Sponsor shall be excused from performance under the TFC Budget Royale and shall not be in default in respect of any obligation hereunder to the extent that the failure to perform such obligation is due to a force majeure event, or beyond the control of the Organiser and Sponsor.
The invalidity, unlawfulness or unenforceability of any provision in these Terms and Conditions in any respect under applicable laws shall not affect the validity, legality or unenforceability of the remaining Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. All participants agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
A person who does not participate in the TFC Budget Royale shall have no right under the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.
